When running your business, it’s important to celebrate and appreciate everything.
After all, it’s about the energy of everything. “What’s not going right” are the shadows coming up for the light to shine upon them…which means something BIG is coming. This is about embracing all of you—the good, the bad, the ugly and the pretty. When you lean into the shadows, you get through the dark soul of the journey much faster. Resistance just buys you more time to wallow in the shadows because even if you choose to ignore them, they show up unconsciously, perhaps as those obstacles.
Recently, I participated in an invitation-only event with six-figure and seven-figure conscious business entrepreneurs. One of the things we talked about was playing with each other at the level of full disclosure. On the second day of the event, I was asked if I wanted to play at this level. Of course I said Yes. (Honestly, if you asked me that three or four years ago, I’m not sure I would have said yes.)
So I was called on to share: what was it that I didn’t want anyone to know about me? On the stage in front of seventy people, I got to share one of my most humiliating experiences. After that share, my voicemail rang with a message from a potential client who had been trying to make a decision about whether or not to work with me. I recognized that this was her “Yes!” Do you see the magic in all of this? I cleared something that had been eating away at me, and the clients started to magnetize themselves to me.
Honestly, running a business is the ultimate personal growth experience.
So today, I want you to take a moment to write down all the things that you are grateful for in your life…yes, even those shadows, because those shadows are ready to come to the light (it’s the only reason why they are showing up for you in this moment in your life). Welcome the shadows with love and lean into them, and know that this is full disclosure of self-love to thyself.
Here’s the deal – as you get more and more visible in the world for your greater good, there are going to be people who aren’t going to like what you’re doing. They will call you self-promoting and self-absorbent, and they will question, Who are you to show up the way you do in the world? This is a test to see if you’re going to look within to notice what part of you might have this judgment about yourself, especially if it triggers you. The contrast is ignoring it all and allowing it to show up in your life and business, until it hits you over the head like nobody’s business and you are forced to look at it. I find that this tends to happen the more we expand and become visible. Stay in your work and be grateful for the journey because something big is about to transform. That’s how highly successful conscious business owners deal with the shadows. They embrace them and are grateful for them. No matter how painful they may appear, there’s some good a-comin’!
Stay in touch because I will be posting a video about this per the request of another conscious business owner!
